Customs official: PSEEZ’s four-month non-oil exports reached $1.4b

Over six million tons of non-oil goods worth $1.46 billion were exported from Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ), southern Iran, in the first four months of the current calendar year (March 20-July 21, 2020).

The remarks were made by Amir-Abbas Hamidi, the head of PSEEZ’s Customs Office, in an interview with Fars News Agency.

He added a total of 6.04 million tons of products were exported in the same period including methanol, propane, butane, light- and heavy polyethylene, gas condensates, ammonia, sulfur, styrene and crude oil.

Hamidi listed export destinations as China, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Turkey, Italy, Germany, Egypt and Kuwait.

He added some 6,465 tons of goods, worth $121 million, were transited from the country during March 20-July 21, showing a year-on-year surge of 22 percent.

Home to the world’s largest gas field, PSEEZ, also being Iran’s energy hub, is the country’s center for exporting non-oil products.
