Iran ready to expand trade ties with Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan

Iranian Minister of Road and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami said Iran is ready to expand business transactions with Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, Iran Press reported.

Esmaili in a trilateral video conference on Tuesday with Turkmenistan’s Deputy Minister of Transport Bayram Geldi Eyvazo and Uzbekistan’s Minister of Transport Elyar Ganiyev, discussed transportation and transit cooperation between Iran, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

"Health protocols have been implemented in twenty four border terminals due to the coronavirus outbreak and disinfection tunnels will be established in borders over the next two weeks," he said.

Turkmenistan’s deputy minister of transport said that steps have been taken to prevent spreading COVID-19 in Turkmenistan borders such as establishing disinfection tunnels.

He added that all transportation vehicles are disinfected and his respective is ready to issue health licenses.

Also Uzbekistan’s minister of transport said that all drivers are obliged to wear gowns and go through health protocols and should deliver the cargo to its destination within ten days.

"Disinfection tunnels are in process in Uzbekistan. We urge to resume railway transportation to and from Iran to other countries since railway transportation has decreased due to the outbreak of coronavirus", he said.

Based on an agreement between the three countries, the required transportation documents will be exchanged electronically.
