This year's festival, which staged seven plays from the UK, Belgium, Slovenia, Serbia, Germany and Switzerland, was held under the slogan 'The Epic Trip'.
The play is about the girls' dormitory which was always like an inaccessible castle. The doors and windows had thousand kinds of fences, locks, barriers, with thick glasses and guards and the arrests at the entrance. After the entrance door, a female world begun in which the entree of any man was prohibited. One day, a girl reported that she had heard a man in one of the rooms.
The international jury of the festival included Maria Shevtsova (the president), Margaret Sörenson, Ivana Sajko, Draško Adžić and Igor Koruga.
The Grand Prix Mira Trailović for the best performance was given to 'Mount Olympus: To Glorify the Cult of Tragedy', directed by the famous Flemish director Jan Fabre.
Bitef is held annually under the slogan 'New Theatre Trends'. Founded in 1967, Bitef has continually supported the latest theater trends, becoming one of the biggest and most important European festivals in the process. Transcending all political and cultural borders, it has managed to keep pace with the rapid and remarkable evolution of performing arts.
